This is probably one of the reasons that the life expectancy is so low, at age 66. Their median age is 27 so they probably have a LOT of young people so that they can have more people working. Lots of people can't really afford school either, so the average amount of schooling is only 4 years. The total fertility rate is 2, so you can have one sibling.  68% India's population is rural. 72% of all Indians have the ethnicity of Indo-Aryan. They say that it was named after, and represents the goddess, Ganga. Many people rely on the river for it's water, (bathing, drinking, washing, etc.) but the water is now polluted. It is filled with human waste, unclean cow skin, trash and garbage, etc.
It is also polluted with the smoke that comes from the factories around it. This is causing a ton of harm to many people in India because lots of people rely on the Ganges River for "life", and now they are getting diseased easily and, in some case, facing death. The contamination going around spells danger in big bold letters to Hindus.
