I know that this is a metaphor because when the author says, ¨sea of green trees¨ he really means that as far as Brian can see, there is nothing but trees. How the author uses personification is when he says, ¨wandering streams and rivers¨ how this is personification is because the streams and rivers cannot actually wander. What the author really means is that the rivers are flowing and are very very long.
