         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>Dementia: a condition characterized by a decline in memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking skills that affect a person's ability to perform everyday activities.</div><div><br>Caused by: abnormal brain changes. <br>Affects:  behavior, feelings and relationships.</div><div><br></div><div>A problem that can cause Dementia: (this is called Vascular Dementia) is a  microscopic bleeding and blood vessel blockage in the brain.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Medications:  Cholinesterase inhibitors  help with memory and judgement.  </div><div><br>Occupational therapy: commonly used, this helps with coping behaviors.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Studies have shown that exercising regularly  in early, mid and late life is tied to people having a lower risk of cognitive decline and dementia. <br><br>People who are physically active are less likely to have heart disease and stroke. Both of these health conditions increase the risk of developing dementia.<br><br>Research has shown that people who exercise are more likely to show a slower loss of brain tissue as they age.<br><br></div><ul><li>Dementia Australia (2006).
