It means the production of goods with the help of human beings and other resources.it also involves the use of men , material and money

There are three types of industry
1 primary industry -- the industries which involves the extraction and multiplication of natural resources are known as primary industry .they also provide material for secondary industry .Eg - farms, poultry
 
Secondary industry
The industry which convert material provided by the primary industry are known as secondary industry Eg- coverting Iron and coal into steel

Tertiary industry
It involves in the provision of services to facilitate primary and secondary industry.Eg- transportation, advertising
