In India Religion played a HUGE part in imperial societies. During the Gupta reign,  Chandra Gupta II, Indian arts grew and these arts supported Hinduism, the original religion bringing back Hinduism. Also, Chandra Gupta II did many foreign trading. For example, they would by silk from China and then re-sell it.
