                                                                 So, 1/8 + 4/8 = 5/8, and 11/30 - 4/30 = 7/30.

What do we do when the denominators are different?  This problem is an example:  5/6 - 4/9.   NOW what?  We need to find the common denominator.  In fact, it's better to find the lowest common denominator.
