•	From the videos I have a greater understanding of the positioning of the arteries in the abdomen and gastrointestinal organs this in turn will help me to understand flow of blood around each of these and how they are linked. •	The videos have helped me to identify where organs etc are placed this will allow me to recognise the patients’ symptoms better and be able to identify areas where patients state that they have pain etc. These videos have helped me to understand drs assessment and abdominal examinations. I now understand why they palpate certain areas, what they are attempting to feel or disturb and what this means. Having studied some of the videos in a previous module I am really having a refresher in this area.•	Before watching the videos I knew the bodies GI organs were responsible for absorbing the nutrients within the body however the videos help to demonstrate this to me in an easy to understand step by step process. As I have previously watched the videos it was good for me to recap about digestion and absorption for commencing this new module. Recapping on the different digestive juice’s that are used to break down the food in the alimentary canal was useful for this module. As I will be understand that when there is a problem with specific organs then there will turn be a problem with its function/specific enzymes hence leading to patients symptoms. •	I didn’t fully appreciate the importance of the small bowel in the absorption of nutrients from the body and through reading and the videos I understand that the small bowel is responsible for the majority of the absorption of nutrients. Taking this into consideration with patients with bowel disease can suffer for malabsorption and therefore be deficient in a number of this such as folate, b12 and iron. I feel my knowledge has been refreshed from watching the videos again. This learning will benefit my practice as it will make me more vigilant when assessing patients and more proactive in screening bloods for deficiencies from admission and also provide advice relating to foods and ensure that all staff are referring patients to dieticians from admission. I feel that I am better equipped for understanding patients symptoms and disease. This in turn will have a positive impact on how I assess and care for patients.

>Have a better understanding of the anatomy in relation to the size and position of the GI organs.
>Can start to build a greater understanding of the blood supply to and from these organs.
> Will be able to relate more and have an understanding regarding the importance around the functions of the GI system and how a disease process will affect it performing properly. Especially in relation to the absorption or rather malabsorption of nutrients etc.

1/ The whole process of digestion relies on both mechanical and chemical processes, although something i already knew it was nice to see it all working together like an orchestra. Being able to view the organs and use the dissection tool showed how close and how connected all of the organs are.

2/ The Complex network of blood supply to the whole digestive tract was far larger and far more complicated than previously known, this has given me a great insight into how the architecture of this network supports the digestion process through both supply to the organs but also in absorption.
3/ Through working through the learning sections, i was able to start thinking about how different disorders of the GI tract and the liver start to impact on digestion and how these manifest into symptoms, such as vitamin deficiency or steatorrhea.
