Learning together through experiences is my preferable mode of personal growth. Learning with the colleagues, learning with the pupils and students, learning with the family members and witnessing the growth of each person - including yourself!
As teachers we sometimes forget that our role is not just to teach and deliver, but to learn too! Many bright minds have often said - to learn is to live, to breath, to experience the joy of life.
Some languages have the same word root for "learn" and "teach". Mokytis - mokyti (lithuanian), apprendre - apprendre (french) учиться - учить (russian) . Isn't it the same process? To share what we learn, to experience the growth together?
Whatever you do in your life - do not stop wonder at the marvelous things that surround you, be as curious as a child and be flexible in your learning journey.

Today’s work was done under amazing surroundings. Live above and under see. Places like these remind us that world is place of unique wonders. Good talks with colleagues. Thinking about key competences and practices to do with students in international projects. Creative environment creates many ideas easily.

Nice to try to remember afterwards what we are doing in the chosen photo.

Today I had a chance to visit the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin lagoon. It is an exceptional natural reserve. I learned that this lagoon is included in UNESCO. It is a home to many spieces of fish, molluses, reptiles, turtles and birds. Real life experience in nature helps to better understand how this biosphere works. I got a lot of new ideas how to teach my pupils about importance of saving our planet.

Today I learned that the world is a vulnerable place which we have to take care of. The coral reefs need to be protected. I was very surprised that while we were at the mangroves another boat came very close. They tied a rope around a branch. People should be made aware that they can damage the environment.

Today I've learned much about the flora and fauna in this exceptional natural reserve and why it's worth protecting it. It was an extraordinary experience to be the first group to arrive on Ilet Caret this morning, everything and everybody was so "tranquille". And again we had the perfect "classroom with a door to the world"!

Ilet Caret is a tiny island to the northeast of Basse Terre in Guadeloupe surrounded by gorgeous, clear water. It’s really a magical place where you can have a swim, go diving, snorkelling and surfing while enjoying a rich biodiversity of countless species of fish living there. I loved a tour on the mangroves where I could admire baby fish which feel safe there and the different varieties of birds that populate this exceptional vegetation. I tried snorkelling close to mangroves and that wasn’t such a scary experience as it seemed from the first sight. I could have been brave enough to go snorkelling above the shipwreck!

Keep our nature alive and it can be fun. Wow, the endangered lagoon has been declared a nature reserve for a reason. Being there, on an isolated island made me realize that the human would not survive there without the ecosystem: our lungs and natural protection live and grow there in the ocean. The dead turtle might act as an example if things go worse. There was some much to see!

“Incredible privilege that will leave you with unforgettable memories”

Today it has been one of those days that you would want to keep fresh in your mind forever. L’îlet Caret, from the turtles “Karet” or “Carette”, fine white sand made out of dead coral and continuously shape changing. The mangroves, whose roots prevent bigger fish to enter, acting as a nursery… ecosystems that are classified World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. A balance between the tourist development in the area and our natural heritage must be our main objective to preserve natural reserves like The Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin in our planet.
