I'm Darryl Scriven and am the Executive Director of the Florida A&M University Cyber Policy Institute. I'm trained in Mathematics and Philosophy and have published academic books, novels, and self-development books. Most of my career has been in Historically Black Colleges and Universities like FAMU, WSSU, SUBR, and Tuskegee as a professor, department chair, and dean. I have 3 adult children and have been married for 28 wonderful years. I grew up playing baseball in Jacksonville, FL and still believe that the best work is teamwork.

I am particularly interested in the Fourth Amendment implications of AI (for example, the ways that emerging technologies such as predictive algorithms, facial recognition programs, and data surveillance tools are used to trigger searches or seizures without individualized or human-based suspicion).
