In a short time high tide will be upon them, and unless he is unstuck, they will all be drowned except the fat man, whose head is out of the cave. [But, fortunately, or unfortunately, someone has with him a stick of dynamite.] There seems no way to get the fat man loose without using [that] dynamite which will inevitably kill him; but if they do not use it everyone will drown.

1. In the certain statement that we can only save one side either the fat man or the group of people, we definitely should help as more people as we could so in this certain question, we need to save the group of people in order to limit the loss as much as possible. 
2. In the certain case that we can only save one side , there are two situations of it. The first situations that we choose to save the fat man but in the statement, the fat man is stuck so probably he cannot even make a sound so the secure will even don’t know that there is a man stuck there so maybe the man will also die because of the lack of help. The other situation is that we choose to save the group of people, these people can cooperate and all the people can stay alive finally.
3.  Actually whoever we save, when he comes back to the society, he will definitely be defined as a guilty person. So in this case, different choice will have different consequences. The first one is that if we choose to save the fat man and fortunately he is saved by others, when he comes back to the society, he will definitely be defined as a guilty person, for the judge will absolutely thinks that the fat man killed others in order to be alive and he will die because of it, for there are a large amount of people died because of him. The second one is that if we choose to save the group of people, when they come back to the society, they will also be defined as guilty but they will not die, for there is only one person die which is the fat man so the group of people will stay alive.

Consequently, if we use dynamites to kill the fat man in order to be alive, it should be wrong. However, if we ask the fat man for the permission, it is him to decide whether these people could be alive or not. 
If he agrees with this idea and choose to commit suicide, it should be good because all people will be alive and take no responsibility for fat man's suicide. If this is the end, the fat man can be the hero because of his sacrifice, which is fine. 
If he does not agree with this idea, he should take the responsibility for others' death because it is him to hold others' lives. We can still kill him for being alive because the public will have a tendency to take the people alive 's side when they understand that the fat man choose to save himself for a moment (although he will die later if we do not use dynamite) and give up more people's lives, which is selfish.

Actually one person's death will bring the tragedy to the whole family, so if the other people die, their family will suffer from this so that a large quantity of people will feel despair about that.
For the other innocent people, they may have children, family and even though they are the policemen, teachers, doctors, they are valuable for the society, by contrast, the fat man cannot make contribution for the society.

This situation will happen to the fat guy too, instead of sacrifice himself, he will try his best to get rid of it, but he have no right to do the decision. 
Since the choice is at the people inside the cave's hand. They will finally choose to ignite the bomb, even though they will get into the prison for murdering, they will still do the decision, this is what humanity about.
On the other hand, even if people did not ignite the bomb, the fat guy will still stuck in the hole and finally die of starvation. Through a rational thinking, sacrificing the fat guy will save other people's lives.

Obviously, most people's life is in the first place. however, based on the moral standard and humanity, it is impossible that we kill the fat man directly. The only way to save more people is to convince the fat man to sacrifice himself of his own accord. In this dilemma, there are only two choices: the fat man sacrifice himself to save others or all of them will die. Apparently, the fat man will die whatever the others choose to do. Even though it is illegal and they may get arrested by the police, it seems to be the best choice for most people at that time. Maybe if the fat man knew that his sacrifice could save all the other people, he'll be happy to do that.
