The teacher could award points for good behaviors such as turning in homework on time, working well with their classmates on group projects, etc. Once a student reaches certain point levels, the teacher can use Word or another similar program to create milestone certificates in recognition. The teacher could create a weekly newsletter on a program such as MailChimp to report what the students have collectively achieved in the classroom. This would provide great conversation starters at home rather than the basic, "How was your day" question and "Fine" responses.
