The job can be physically demanding, as well as emotionally demanding, depending on what kind of patient you are working with. Depending on your patient, you may be indoors or outdoors, and you may be stationary or actively moving.

It was reported in 2014 that 11,770 people were employed as "therapists" and in 2013 the AATA recorded that 5,000 people were registered as "Art Therapists".
