The most important guidelines to follow to create a successful online class are: Thinking before you type - pausing before reacting allows you to form thoughts and to identify offensive, irrelevant or non helpful commentary that you may be ready to give; and Being Kind and Professional - not everyone will share my point of view or my opinion, and that's okay. We can learn to be a better society by listening and being kind to those who differ from us.

Communication via the internet can't be interpreted, it can only be understood from what exactly is submitted so in order to be successful, you must be precise
2. Read all comments before hitting submit. Sometimes, not fully reading all the comments will lead to redundancy and that's not effective online communication. Make sure ot read the previous posts and read everything before you post.
3. Be respectful. Respect is very important especially via the internet because you never know how the other person is feeling. Respect of everyone's diversity is a must for online etiquette.

Not knowing the information is not going to hurt anyone but you because you may get caught or need to know it in the future. It's also much harder to interpret sarcasm online and it can be very easily misinterpreted, causing someone to be offended or hurt.

I) Utilize clear and concise language and avoid an informal tone. Be mindful that what you type is ultimately directed at your peers, so make sure to be professional--sarcasm, slang, snarky remarks, and even poor grammar can distort the meaning behind your message and confuse your reader.

II) Know that once you type something online, it will be perpetually engraved to the eyes of other people. That being said, make sure you respond clearly to what is asked of you and take your posts seriously. Disrespecting and offending others will not be tolerated, and such an act can ruin your reputation as a person.

III) Be credible and maintain your integrity by not plagiarizing. Stealing the work of others is not an honourable action, and you are not learning anything in return. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask your teacher rather than completely relying on the Internet to be your guide.

I think that the most important points for a successful online course is don't write anything you wouldn't say in a face-to-face setting, keep all posts/messages relevant and within the discussion topic, and to recognize and respect diversity.
1. Don't write anything you wouldn't say in a face-to-face setting. This is important because in a face-to-face setting you wouldn't say anything mean or insulting to the person. You respect them. Online you need to have the same respect for anybody you are chatting with as you would if you were speaking to them in person.
2. Keep all posts/messages relevant and within the discussion topic. This point is import ot have a successful online course because it is important not to waste other people's time time by chatting about something off topic. By staying on topic you are showing courtesy towards others.
3.Recognize and respect diversity. It is utterly rude to insult or be mean to someone because they are different from you. Being kind to someone no matter how different they are from you shows that you can respect others.

1. An important factor in having a successful online course is to not use any sarcasm. Because tone of speech cannot be detected through a screen, the receiver will see it as an insult and will be hurt by your comment.

2. To understand that once you have posted something, you cannot and will not be able to take it back. At times, we let our emotions take the better of us and use what our heart says rather than our minds. It is best that before posting anything, we read it, read it aloud, and understand your points in the comment. If you are questionable of your emotions, take a break before responding.

3. Due to a flexible schedule, respect the teacher's schedule. We may stay up till three o'clock but our teachers surely do not. In order to have a successful class, we must respect the teacher's time and know they will respond to us as soon as they can. It is key that we do not become agitated and that once he responds, you see their answer as unnecessary. Just as we respect teachers at school, we must be just as respectful, if not more, to the teachers of a online course.

You never want to be caught plagiarizing, it is considered dishonorable and will question your integrity.
3. Think before you speak or post.

1. You need to make sure that you read your responses before you post them, so that you do not say something rude or offensive without intending it to be that way. Sometimes you can also have spelling errors as well, so reading over what you are about to send can help you look more professional and avoid errors when speaking to classmates or teachers.
2. It is always good to be respectful to everyone and not disrespect people’s views or opinions. When you are talking to people on the internet, they don’t always know what your tone is, so it is easy for them to get confused. When you are always acting respectful, everyone will be able to easily understand your tone and your opinions.
3. Doing your own work is also very important, if you plagiarize, that is a real problem that could affect your life in more ways than one. Not only would you get a 0 in the assignment, there could be other reprocussions as well. It is safer to just do your own work and actually gain some knowledge instead of trying to do it quick and easy.
