We’ve danced and played games in the hall. Now we’re back in class having had a visit from Santa. We’re now crafting, drawing and being creative. We’ve even managed to complete a beautiful fairy jigsaw that took us an hour to complete!

19.12.25 Reindeer run

Today, all classes completed a reindeer run for MacMillan charity. We walked and ran laps of the playground for 15 minutes. Thank you for all the sponsors 💕❤️

Today we recapped our teen numbers making sure we are saying teen and not ty.We made different teen numbers using a ten then adding the correct ones cards .We then looked at between and were able to circle two numbers and give the correct numbers between the two given numbers using full sentences and using the word between.

Today we were able to distinguish between “Ty” and “teen” numbers doing impressions of teenagers or drinking a cup of tea to distinguish between the two .We then sorted some numbers into teens or Ty putting the Ty numbers into our tea cups .

Exploring place value 13-1-26

Today we explored place value counting bundles of lolly sticks in multiples of ten. They then made 2 digit numbers using lolly sticks and used place value cards to represent these numbers and were able to recognise a number from how many tens and ones it has.

The children practiced counting forewords and backwards in tens .we then used 10ps to find the total amount counting each ten as they were dropped into the money box.we then partitioned two digit numbers using place value cards

Number bonds to five

Today the children sorted parcels into two groups to make 5 they then worked out which numbers are number bonds of 5 and wrote them down ,the children then played a game with their partner to match up two different numbers to make five.

Children used their oracy skills to explain why the Great Fire of London spread so rapidly. We used sources to understand why this happened.

Today we learnt about the different roles of engineers. We looked at, planned and tried to build different bridges. We had to use our teamwork skills and lots of trial and error to make our bridges stable and secure.
