         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jealousy<br>The children didn't like how how the flowers were so taken care of and how much joy them held when the kids were going through tough times, it probably held too much hope for them. To the children, the marigolds were "too beautiful" in the middle of Miss Lottie's decaying "hut".</div>]]></description>

So, she went to Miss Lottie's garden and destroyed her marigolds. Seeing as the marigolds were the epitome of what was troubling her. The marigolds were a sort of "lie" in her home; representing beauty, stability, control, and good despite being in a poverty-striken neighborhood that was about to feel the effects of teh Great Depression.</div>]]></description>
