I study at there for 2 years.

From 2007 until 2012, I study at SJK(C) Chung Hua Lundu. In 2007，I have participated UPSR in 2007.

From 2013-2017, I study at SMK Lundu. I got middle result in SPM.

From 2018-2019, I study at SMK Pending. I got 2A,1A- and 1B- in STPM. I use this result to apply for UNIMAS.

Isa. Dr Abu Hassan is a very kindly and helpful person. Dr Abu Hassan responsible to 11 students in Semester 1 from Finance course. On Wednesday, 6/11/2020, we have a group academic advisor meeting with Dr Abu Hassan. 

In the beginning of academic advisor meeting session, Dr Abu Hassan share with us his education background. Dr Abu Hassan has a very rich and brilliant learning career. He completed his secondary school course at Sultan Abdul Hamid College in Alor Setar, Kedah.  Again, he continued his studying at College for Agriculture for 3 years Diploma Degree in Selangor. He worked for one year as agricultural officer. Then, he went to Louisiana State University, U.S.A to complete his Bachelor of Science Degree in agricultural in second year and third year. After that, he was completing his Master of Science Degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, such a very famous university in world. Dr Abu Hassan obtained his PHD in 1990 from Aberdeen University, Scotland. He told us that his family is not rich person, so that he required scholarship through his own efforts to complete his studies. Dr Abu Hassan also shared with us the university he worked before. He said that he worked nearly 27 years in University Putra Malaysia (UPM) to teach Agriculture Economic and Finance. In 2004, He was retired from UPM. After that, he joined Curtin University, Miri, Sarawak about two and half years. In 2006, he joined UNIMAS until today.

In the session, there is a question about how to become an auditor asking by someone in the meeting. Dr Abu Hassan that if we want to become an auditor, we need to pass Bachelor of Accounting first, then need to pass the professor degree, ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountant) to become a chartered accountant and also become a member of MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accountant). He also advises us to do our Bachelor of Finance properly and try to gain good result. He suggests us to work with company by using Bachelor of Finance. Then we can evaluate to obtain ACCA certificate to increase our value. Dr Abu Hassan also answered us about the kind of job we can apply after we graduated with Bachelor of Finance. He told us can work with financial institution. For example, insurance company, Takaful, insurance bank or work with the district company because they need people in finance.

About the question how to manage stress also have been asking by us. Dr Abu Hassan suggest us just relax and do not be stressful. He told us that we need to arrange our time smartly in doing our work. He thinks that we can do the work that are due first and do the work due later after finishing the work due first. Then, he was concerned with us that he said if we have stress problem with money, for example financial problem in buying online data, we can inform to academic advisor and they will try to help us. We also provide the question about learning new language. Dr Abu Hassan has advised us to learn the language that can give us opportunity to find a job in the future and not the local language such as Iban, Kadazan and so on because the local language can study by our own if we want to study. He suggested us to learn the language like Mandarin, because some of the company in Malaysia are willing to employ the employees that can speak Mandarin and create the opportunity to work in China.

In the academic advisor meeting also, Dr Abu Hassan also answer the question about the advices on online learning. He advised us to make sure our internet connection is stable, and don not have problem regarded internet data. He also suggests us always required and reminded lecturer to record the lecture. After that, he told that we can remind lecturer to pass over the record of lecture for us so that we can do our revision and to replay the part we do not understand. There is a question regarding the course failed. Dr Abu Hassan gives us a general introduction about the consequences of failing the final exam. He told us that if we fail one subject, we can proceed to the other subject in next semester, but we need to repeat the subject we failed before. If our CGPA is below 2.0, we will receive warning from faculty.

The meeting session nearly 27 minutes. This academic advisor meeting session is a very pleasant meeting. We study aloud of things from this academic advisor meeting session. From this meeting session, I study that what is the future or job opportunity that we have, or we can choose regarding for our Bachelor of Finance. We really appreciate that Dr Abu Hassan can held this group meeting session with us and answering ours question. The library is a paradise for reading. People can read and find information in a quiet environment. People can also borrow books from the library. Library skill is a study skill for people to search resources or materials in library. From the task given by lecturer, I need to search some material such as textbook, journal, newspaper and so on by using the website of Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Rahman Ya'kub (PeTARY): www.library.unimas.my. 
 
First, I supposed to search any 2 Textbook References related to course in this semester. I have study Management in this semester. So, I search the textbook references related to Management from www.library.unimas.my. At the homepage, there is a LibrARY OneSearch for searching library collections with one single search. I search “Management” and after that it will show some of the result from this keyword. Then, I choose two of the textbook references that are “Management” by Naylor, John and “Management: A Global Perspective” by Halff, John. It has provided the publisher, call number, ISBN, edition and so on. 
 
Then, I also LibrARY OneSearch for searching novel. I search novel by the keyword “Harry Potter” because Harry Potter is one of the novels that are famous in the world. It come out some result from this keyword, so I choose the novel named “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone” and “Ombak Rindu”. Why I searched this book because I have read this novel before. Same with the text references, novel also provided the call number, publisher, and the other information in the page.
 
After that, I also search any 2 e-books available since 2019 from UNIMAS library website. By using LibrARY OneSearch, there is no e-book available since 2019. So, I click the Online Resources at the top of website and then click the E-collection. It provided 5 types of materials that is e-book, e-journal, online databases, electronic resources (on trial) and open access educational resources. I click the e-book and it will jump to the pages Remotexs. We need to sign in with UNIMAS identity before access to the Remotexs. There are many types of resources to find e-book. I choose e-book resources that named Directory of Open Access Books (Open Access Educational Resources). I am search e-book about Finance by using keyword “Finance 2019”. It came out 41 result, I pick two e-books that titles are “Empirical Finance” and “Risk Measures with Applications in Finance and Economics”.
 
Next, I need to search any 2 e-journals published by UNIMAS. I used the link, http://publisher.unimas.my/ojs/ to search the e-journal published by UNIMAS. In this website, there is a list of Journal at the main page. Every e-journal provided the information and link access to public. I pick one article from “International Journal of Business and Society” and one article from “UNIMAS Review of Accounting and Finance” as my e-journal evidence. 
 
Besides that, there is a task also to search 2 online databases from PeTARY. So, I click the Online Resources at the top of UNIMAS library website again to search the online databases. From 179 databases, I choose ERIC Institute of Education Sciences (Open Access Educational Resources) to search related material. I search the keyword “Finance” in ERIC, and it shown some result from this keyword. I choose “Local School Finance Study, 2019” and also “Campaign Finance: Reporter Guide”. In both of pdf file, its show some data and analysis in whole article.  
 
Lastly is searching any 2 newspaper articles in 2020. By searching newspaper article, I am using e-databases in PeTARY UNIMAS. From the list of e-database, I pick Business Source Complete. Then, I choose Health Business Elite and type the keyword “Finance” and in first column and “Newspaper 2020” in second column. It shows some newspaper articles in 2020. I choose the article named “Federal funding for gun violence prevention research sparks hopes” and “Already-strained US public health workforce grapples with COVID-19” in the list. 

 After applying this library skill, I can know that library skill is an important skill for us to search some of the materials such as book, journal, newspaper and so on in doing our assignment. Library skill also give me the experience about how to find the materials online more effectively. So, we need to study this skill so that we can do our assignment properly.
