Hello there! 👋

I’m Henrique from the Content Team. I currently live in Lisbon, Portugal, and I’m from ESN Lisboa 🐟

I hold a Master’s degree in Engineering Physics… mainly because I wanted to understand the physics behind how cats always land on their feet 🐱

I joined ESN Lisboa in 2022 after an amazing Erasmus Programme experience in Italy, and since then, ESN has completely changed my life. I’ve held positions at every level of ESN, and in 2024, I discovered non-formal education through Eduk8 and instantly fell in love with trainings and facilitation. My main interests as a trainer are motivation, well-being, emotional intelligence, empathy, and bringing tools from psychology to help create more empathetic and empowered volunteers 🎓

A fun fact about me is that I’m so good at imitating accents that if we have a long conversation, I might accidentally start speaking with yours by the end of it 😂

One thing I’m really looking forward to at this event is having meaningful conversations about mental health and well-being, while learning from all of you and creating something impactful together 💙

Can’t wait to meet everyone soon! 🥳

I live in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and I am the Main Chair of the International Activities Committee (ActiCom - the magenta committee).

Fun fact: I got really into crocheting over the past few months. But I am not very good at actually finishing the projects, so currently there is one half-made bag, one 75%-made blanket, a 90%-made bandana lying around, and a looooot of yarn (it's an issue). Crocheting makes me very happy; it just might take 3 to 700 business days to finish something.

For the Study Session, I'm very much looking forward to learning from each other and to empowering volunteers to create inclusive and accessible spaces and better support the mental health of international students.

Also related, due to having a (wonderful) greek girlfriend, I know random stuff in Greek and absolutely loooooove to randomly throw greek expressions! Οοοοοοντως.

I am expecting to learn a lot about myself, and to improve my emotional intelligence. I’ve learned that 'wellbeing' has a different meaning when it’s 40°C versus -20°C, it turns out, vitamin D and hot tea are the only universal survival hacks. :D

For the Study Session, I'm expecting to meet people who share the same academic stresses I have and realizing that 'mental health' is a universal language, not just a personal struggle.

Hey everyone!

My name is Hamza Khan, and I’m currently living in Sofia, Bulgaria, where I’ve been studying medicine for nearly 6 years now. I moved from Canada to Bulgaria to pursue my medical degree, and I’ve been part of ESN for the past 3 years as a member of ESN UNWE.

A fun fact about me is that I’m a huge foodie and I really enjoy baking and cooking and with this passion i even started a baking business. I’ve also spent different parts of my life living in several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Bulgaria, which has given me the opportunity to experience many different cultures and perspectives.

Along with listening to everyone's perspective and experiences with mental health i’m also looking forward to contributing my own perspective to the Study Session. As moving alone to a foreign country at 17 and during the COVID lockdown period had a significant impact on my own mental health and adaptation process. I believe this experience has helped me better understand many of the challenges international students face during mobility. At the same time, as a final-year medical student, I’m also looking forward to bringing a medical and health-related perspective to discussions surrounding mental health and well-being.

Really excited to meet all of you soon!

I’m part of ESN Torino, and I’m incredibly proud of our team and the amazing work we’re doing.

Fun fact: my friends are convinced that I hate Italy because I did an exchange programme in London, an Erasmus in Valencia, another Erasmus year in Madrid, and an internship in Strasbourg. Basically, I never miss a chance to leave the country. But the truth is exactly the opposite: I genuinely love Italy. I’m just an extremely curious person who loves discovering new cultures and connecting with people from different backgrounds.

Through all these international experiences, I’ve seen how mobility can be both exciting and overwhelming at the same time, and how mental health is still too often overlooked. I would really like to better understand how we can support students in a more concrete, inclusive, and meaningful way, and hopefully bring back practical ideas and inspiration to my local section.

Can’t wait to meet you all and learn more about your lives, countries, languages, and cultures.

Did I already mention how much I love the international environment? 🌍

Most prominently I am the NA CT Main Chair and the National HR Manager. 💪🏻

At the moment, I am back in the South (West) of Germany and am living near Stuttgart, in the heart of Swabia. ✨

I have been thinking really hard about the fact, I have many things to share.

What I can already tell you now is that I don't have a "favourite" for anything. So no favourite movie, no favourite dinosaur, and no favourite dish - it's because I am too indecicive and have a hard time choosing. 🫣

And two topics I am passionate about (besides ESN of course) are first aid and dancing - I am both a trained paramedic and first aid instructor and a trained dance teacher.

Hello peeps! My name is Eduardo and I am from ESN ASE-CMP Bucharest in Romania. I joined my ESN section in september 2024 after doing two erasmuses, realizing that I want to become a volunteer to show the beauty of my country and my city.

I have been in 3 Erasmuses so far: Gdansk, Prague and Grenoble and one EEA Study Grant in Norway. I loved every single one of them. They made me grow as a person and I have met wonderful friends whom I will be interacting all my life with. I am thankful for being able to have these opportunities and I want to help other get over their fear of traveling and living in another country.

Some quick (fun) facts: I have studied european adminsitration, european political and social sciences. I love video games and computer building, I've done some HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts), I love gardening and my plan (and dream) is to learn every single major latin language. Right now I am trying/strugleling with learning french - I have an oficial A2 certificate from Science Po Grenoble so I am effectively native in the language, please feel free to tease me about it.

I cant wait to meet you all and learn more about mental health & well being together!

Hello everyone! :)

I'm Despoina from Greece, currently living in the city where I was born and raised: Athens. I'm volunteer in ESN KAPA Athens, one of the eight ESN sections in my city. Alongside other roles at the national level within ESN Greece, I am also currently serving my mandate as the President of my section.

A fun fact about me is that, no matter how much I travel each year, I always have to visit at least one of my Erasmus cities annually, every single time! These cities are Valencia (Spain) and... drum roll... Budapest! I joined my first mobility programme (back then called Comenius) when I was 14 years old and travelled all the way to Budapest to live with a host family and attend a Hungarian high school for a week. It’s hard to believe that, after 9 years, I’m still close friends with the amazing people I met back then, who have now grown into mature and empathetic adults.

That’s why I can’t hide my excitement about returning to Budapest for the fifth time, especially for a reason connected to Erasmus+. For me, this city feels like a safe space. It has seen me through both my worst and my best moments, and through so many different versions of myself. It’s the perfect place to truly be myself, discuss important topics, and educate myself further on mental health issues connected to the mobility community.

One of the reasons I am especially looking forward to the Study Session 2026 on “Mental Health and Well-Being Without Borders” is the opportunity to learn and exchange ideas on how we, as ESN sections, can better support the mental health and well-being of incoming and outgoing international students. I’m also excited to share some ideas I already have, discuss them with others, and hopefully improve them through this experience before we try to implement them back in my section (everyone is really excited for me to come back and share everything we will discuss in Budapest).

On the 24th of May (Sunday), before my departure, I’ll probably have the chance to meet once again with my old friends, so feel free to join us if you’ll also be travelling later that day! :)

I live in Berlin since 4-5 years and I'm the current president of ESN Berlin.

Fun facts about me: I played football for Hertha BSC Berlin - Robin Schulz, David Guetta & Don Diablo played my music - I can imitate the angry Donald Duck.

Since Mental Health is a very important and personal topic for me, I can't wait to inhale all the knowledge and bring it back to my section as well as provide input from my side. At the same time I'm really looking forward to meeting ESNers from other cities/countries, as it's always very valuable to exchange knowledge/ideas and initiate collaborations!

Since 2022, I’ve been a proud member of ESN UEW Wroclaw, where I am now a Project Manager (I’ve also been a Treasurer twice!) ✨️

Fun fact: I went on my Erasmus+ to Belgium, Liège, and since then, I have fallen in love with travelling! Before, I was a couch potato, but now I always have a trip booked to look forward to 🌍 My family is always asking me where I'm off next 🤣

I’m also a bit on the nerdy side: I love board games, DIY crafts, anime and reading! 🤓

I’m looking forward to learning more about mental health, as it is a very important topic! I know a lot of people struggle with it, especially when far from home (so during Erasmus). Been there, done that – it’s not easy, but the experience is life-changing. I would love to understand better how to support others, create a safe and open environment, and help people feel less alone during difficult moments. I also hope to gain practical knowledge that I can use both in ESN activities and in everyday life 💞

See ya soon!

As likely all of us, I also possess A Mental Health and knowing the systematic walls help is locked behind, and how difficult it can be to even start the process of getting to it, I am passionate about bringing those walls down and making sure everyone around me knows and dares to take care of themselves, as well as guiding more vulnerable groups on that path.

See you all very soon!!
