School should be an opportunity for students to participate in activities they may not be able to at home. Student centered learning environments will also the students to grow as individuals.  I feel that the teachers should play a big role in deciding what the students should learn because they are, in fact, the ones who know the students on a personal level. I feel that the board of education should also play a role so that there is some what of a consistency across the country. To me, curriculum is the guide or plan that teachers should follow to develop their subject based instruction. I think curriculum should be developed at the local level, so that it can be individually designed for the students in the area. This will allow teachers to have input and give students meaningful experiences.
