Categories that are protected by Copyright:
1. Literary works
2. Musical works
3. Dramatic works
4. Pantomimes/choreographic works
5. Pictorial, Graphic, and Sculptural works
6. motion pictures
7. Sound recordings 
8. Architectural works
Not Protected by Copyright:
- Ideas
- Procedures
- Processes etc.

The main purpose although is to have a defense against a claim of copyright infringement.

There are six type of different licenses:
1. CC BY
2. CC BY-SA
3. CC BY-NC
4. CC BY-NC-SA
5. CC-BY-ND
6. CC BY-NC-ND
These all have distinctly different uses, it purely depends on what license you are seeking.

This can be seen by assigning credit back to the media that was sourced to your audience. 
In media attributions there are many displays of models:
- First-touch attribution
- Last-touch attribution
- Last non-direct click
- Linear attribution
- Time Decay attribution etc.
