You can use google calendar to create custom office hour time slots. Post a link in your gmail signature so students and parents can easily sign up.

Calendly is another tool for scheduling one-on-one meetings with students that links to your Google Calendar.

For Note-Taking:
If you like paper note taking tools, Passion Planner has planners you can order, or DOWNLOAD a variety of sheets for free.

Grading:
Kaizena is an extension and a website for providing students with verbal feedback on their digitally-uploaded work.

1. There are times you must consciously remember to breathe.

2. Remember how important “please” and “thank you” are.

3. Take a moment to remember what you are truly wanting for yourself.

4. Not everyone will see things your way, remember, that is okay.

5. You only have so much energy, remember to prioritize how you spend it.

6. Remember when you decided to stand up for yourself? Do it again.

7. If you remember your why, what you must do becomes apparent.

8. Wherever you are, remember to be there.

9. People will attempt to rain on your parade, remember, you are waterproof.

10. Others will believe what they believe about you, remember, it does not make it your truth. 

11. Remember, the path of your regret has been paved mostly by your excuses. 

12. It’s simple. Remember your strength.

Actively Learn is a reading site that allows teachers to assign readings, multiple choice quizzes, and open ended questions by content or theme.  

NewsELA is a free resource that includes reading; current event articles with reading checks.

TeenTribune is a Smithsonian resource that allows teachers to assign current event articles by topic and lexicon level.  Readings include multiple choice and blog posts that teachers can assign and preview before publishing.

MyShakespeare is a free resource for engaging students in Shakespeare's plays.

Quill.org: Quill provides free sentence writing and grammar activities for elementary, middle, and high school students with feedback.

Peergrade.io: a platform where students can evaluate each other’s work anonymously. After teachers create an assignment and a rubric, students submit their work and provide feedback to their peers.

The New York Times created a Learning Network for teachers to use with their students. There are complete units, engaging activities and thematic contests.
