The Oregon Trail started as a bunch of unconnected trails that the Native Americans and the Fur Traders used. The Oregon Trail was also a very important trail that was used for settlers coming from the East hoping for a new and better life in the West. The trail covered 2000 miles and it started in Independence, Missouri and ended in Oregon City in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The trail was a six month journey by wagon and the settlers used the covered wagons to keep their supplies together.
