         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Declaration of Independece, by Thomas Jefferson, was a document to declare why the colonies should be independent from Britain. The document was written in July 1776 in Philadelphia. The document was written to draw up a declaration of colonial rights. Jefferson wrote about what the Americans believed they had the right to do. Rights everyone was born with was “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” </div>]]></description>
