List more - ack words on the whiteboard5 Repeat the process with -ick words, beginning with the example that will be the most familiar6 Then move to a pocket chart with word cards7 Demonstrate how to sort cards by the first part (letter or letter cluster)8 Continue sorting the words into columns by the first letters: b, p, ch, f, qu, l, and r9 Return all the words to the left hand column " Now sort the words by looking at the last part of the word.
