Why.... because Hawaii had excellent farming conditions, for sugar canes and when farmers started producing sugar canes, the farming industry blew up and sugar cane farmers where getting good money, based on how much sugar cane they were making.

Hawaii was imperialized in 1898, And is 2.1 thousand miles away from the mainland of the U.S., Sugar planters persuaded the U.S. to overthrow the queen so they wouldn't pay tariffs, and the queen unsuccessfully tried to fight back. The U.S. decided to annex Hawaii because they wanted more resources and wanted access to trade and capital.

I agree with the U.S. decision to imperialize this territory because first it was a great place for farming, many people started farming sugar cane, and produced millions of sugar cane this helped the U.S. economically by making more jobs and producing more money and even though people might say we already have so much resources hawaii also offered an important trading location and military base, which produced many benefits for the U.S.

I disagree with the opinion to annex Hawaii because the U.S. does not need more resources since they are one of biggest country in the world and should have more then enough materials. The U.S. was also already a trading partner with Hawaii so they didn't have to annex them for trading rights. By the way Imperialism went against the Declaration of Independence – “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” because Hawaiian's honored their ruling family and Hawaii lost some of their cultural practices due to all the settlement, never the less all the settlement caused many diseases to spread through Hawaii and caused around 230 thousand deaths of native Hawaiians.
