The government's announcement of the New Logistics Policy (NLP) has been welcomed by the logistics sector. The long-awaited policy framework takes into account all the major players in the enormous yet dispersed logistics sector of the nation. The new framework places a strong emphasis on streamlining procedures for seamless collaboration and lowering overall logistical costs, in addition to encouraging job creation and workforce skill development. The National Logistics Policy will be supported by the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) will consolidate all digital transportation services into a single interface, relieving exporters of a number of extremely time-consuming and onerous procedures. A new digital platform called Ease of Logistics Services - e-logs has also been launched as part of the mega policy concept. Industry organisations can directly address any such issues that are hindering their operations and performance with the government entities using this platform. There will be less paperwork as the documentations are going to be less complex.
                                     - By Arushi Agrawal (BM021034)

PM of India introduced national logistics policy which intends to boost both ease of doing business as well as ease of living and benefit all stakeholders including farmers and consumers. The objective of the policy is to develop a technologically enabled, integrated, cost-efficient, resilient, sustainable and trusted logistics ecosystem in the country for accelerated and inclusive growth.
From investors point of view,
Shares of logistics companies were trading mixed in early trade on Monday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Logistics Policy on September 17. The sector heavyweights Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR), TCI Express, Aegis Logistics, Blue Dart Express, Transport Corporation of India, and VRL Logistics rose up to 3%, while Mahindra Logistics, Allcargo, Snowman Logistics dropped nearly 1%.

If we consider EIC analysis into this,
It creates a single point of refrence for all the logistics and trade facilitation. The policy also encourages industry, academia and excellence to come together to create a logistics center of excellence and drive innovation in the logistics sector. It will also doubles the employment resulting in providing 10-15 million jobs additionally. With cost effective, it also emphasizes on MSME sector.
-
KRATIKA SAXENA
(BM021078)

The new logistics policy launched by govt of India mainly focused on reducing the cost of logistics because India is going to be the manufacturing hub as currently the main logistics cost in India stands at 10% to 13% of the country’s GDP. The new policy will be technology driven where the people will be able to track the location of their cargo and there will be ease in the documentation process and reduce the paperwork.

From the investor's point of view, this policy has brought a new investment area from them such as cargo companies will be a good company as an investor can invest in cargo corporation of India, as the new policy also focuses on logistics on the road, water, the air so the investor can invest in Patel integrated Logistics ltd as it is the public road cargo company in India, technology companies will be a good option for investing, Fintech companies providing the new tech payment options are one such good investment option and obviously the Adani Ports.

If we see from the points of economics right now trade deficit of India stands at USD 26.8 billion with the introduction of the new policy there will be ease of doing business as well as ease of documentation which will increase the trade in the country. It will also lead to the country's technological advancement, which will make the resources used effectively and efficiently. Employment will also increase.

Submitted by: Abhinav Sharma

However, during a press brief, the Information and Broadcasting minister stated that now the target is to be among the top 25 countries by 2030.

By Akash Jaggi
Bm-021227

The national logistics policy that the Indian PM proposed aims to improve both the ease of doing business and the ease of living for the benefit of all stakeholders, including farmers and consumers. The policy's goal is to create a trusted, reliable, cost-effective, resilient, and technologically equipped logistics ecosystem in the nation for rapid and equitable growth. Following the announcement of the National Logistics Policy on September 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shares of logistics companies were trading in a mixed manner in early trade on Monday from the perspective of investors. Heavy hitters in the industry like Transport Corporation of India, Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR), TCI Express, Aegis Logistics, Blue Dart Express, and VRL Logistics all saw gains of up to 3 percent while Mahindra Logistics, Allcargo, and Snowman Logistics saw declines of almost 1 percent.

If we take EIC analysis into account, it creates a single point of reference for all trade facilitation and logistics. The policy also promotes collaboration between business, academics, and excellence to establish a centre of excellence in logistics and foster innovation in the field. Additionally, it will increase employment by double, creating an additional 10–15 million jobs. Cost-effectiveness is combined with an emphasis on the MSME sector.

- By Sonal Mishra (BM-021186)

India will be a manufacturing powerhouse, the government of India's new logistics policy placed a major emphasis on lowering the cost of logistics, which now accounts for 10% to 13% of the GDP of the nation. The new policy will be technology-driven, enabling people to trace the whereabouts of their cargo and making the documentation procedure simpler and less paper-intensive.
Given that the new policy also emphasises logistics on the road, water, and air, cargo firms will be a good company for investors to invest in, for example, according to their perspective, this policy has opened up new investment opportunities for them. One such good investment possibility, in addition to the Adani Ports, are fintech companies that offer cutting-edge payment methods.
According to economic data, India now has a trade deficit of USD 26.8 billion. With the implementation of the new policy, doing business and obtaining documentation would be simpler, which will boost trade within the nation. Additionally, it will result in technological improvement in the nation, which will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of resource utilisation.

From a development perspective, the logistics industry has enormous potential because it is essential to every industry, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, transportation, e-commerce, medicine, and manufacturing.
It is the foundation of the Indian economy, yet it only generates 14.4% of GDP and costs 13% to 14% of GDP, compared to the global average of 8%.With a goal of reaching a $5 trillion economy, India is currently the fifth-largest economy in the world. As a result of recent rapid improvements in technology, standardization, integration, and the digital revolution, the Indian logistics industry has rapidly grown. The transparent and accurate coordination between ministries will be improved by ULIP integration, and the flow of ULIP goods will contribute to logistical efficiency. By establishing standardized traffic management systems and cutting-edge transportation infrastructure for all forms of transportation, including roads, railroads, and waterways, it will offer a framework for supporting a more effective trade of goods. The government has also well recognized the problem of lack of skilled laborers which has been one of the major issues in the logistics sector. Developing a combination of skilled and unskilled employees, can bring in more technology automation improvement and increase the efficiency and speed of overall express distribution. This will also lead to more job opportunities in the sector and workforce skill development. It has fueled India's ambition to one day lead the world in manufacturing and produced smooth digital transactions, better access to global markets, increased system transparency, integrated logistics systems, etc. Government programmes like Sagarmala and Bharatmala have accelerated the construction of Dedicated Freight Corridors to improve logistical links for planned infrastructure expansion.
Therefore, a well-organized logistic ecosystem fueled by all these government measures will enable India to compete internationally and aid the market in reaching the predicted USD 380 Bn milestone by 2025 with a CAGR of 10–12 percent.
                                                    submitted by
Rajat Singhal 223
