Lennie has mental disabilities but does not know what he is capable of doing, he is very big and strong but doesn't know how to control it. In the begging of the book Lennie like to feel soft things, so he picked up a small mouse and started to pet it, but him not knowing he accidentally breaks the little mouse's neck. This leads into other things towards the end of the book. "And George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie's head."(Steinbeck 106)  At the farm, Lennie was talking to Curley's wife And she told him to touch her hair he started to pet her hair for a while and she got scared and tried to get away but Lennie picked her up and shook her,  she broke her neck. George is now in a sticky situation because they will find out Lennie did it and kill him in a not humane way. This is why George killed Lennie. But George didn't have to kill Lennie, George didn't think of any other plan he was under pressure and made a decision that will be with him for the rest of his life. Eli and his family are Jewish and takes place in World War 2, Nazis come to their neighborhood and act very nice and harmless. But what they were warned was true. Little by little they started to take people away and sent them to camps, "The race towards death had begun"(Wiesel 10) Elie and his family were later sent to the camps. This could have been prevented, Elie's father had the chance to get out of there but made the family decision that they weren't going anywhere. If Elie's dad made the decision to move his family could have had a chance of making it. The father didn't make a good decision because he was pressured by the Nazis and his family. But Romeo gets into some trouble and is never allowed back in the city of Verona. Juliet's dad tried to force her to have a setup marriage with Pairs but her heart is with Romeo. "Rather than marry Paris, ask me to leap from the battlements of any tower, or walk where there are thieves or loiter where snakes are." ( 4.1.1.3) Juliet is willing to take her own life rather than marry Paris, she gets a poison that is going to put her to sleep for a long time but could kill her so her parents will think she's dead but Romeo will be there to pick take her away. Romeo finds Juliet and thinks she is dead so he drinks poison, then Juliet wakes up to find Romeo dead and takes her own life.
