The serene songs of the birds drowned by the worker’s tools
Embelesh the fact that we are all fools.
Ignoring the tender, warm sun or the calming breeze 
Should make us want to stop and freeze 
The green haven is calling my name 
But I can’t go and I am to blame
I’ve been too focused on surviving 
And obsessed with the idea of thriving 
That I’ve become incarcerated by my own thoughts 
And have to figure out how to get my life out of knots

The green haven is taunting me
Telling me I should go there and flee
But I’m chained to this idea of perfection, 
I guess I’m just too scared of rejection.
Reminded that everyone makes mistakes
Has made me stop and take breaks.
The honey sweet sun has now chimed in 
And I can’t help but grin 
I go to the green haven happy as can be 
Because now I am free
