I mention this bill specifically because it has grabbed the attention of Congress related to an issue that impacts marginalized communities--the risks posed by the collection and spread of personal data across the data broker ecosystem. The risks of doxxing, physical threats, and other chilling effects impact marginalized communities much more than it does federal judges. Can consideration of this law open the door to Congress adopting stronger protections for all to protect at-risk communities?
