The New Deal was when FDR passed programs to help the U.S. citizens after the Great Depression. For example, he passed the PWA which stands for Public Works Administration. PWA stands for "budgeted several billion dollars to be spent on the construction of public works as a means of providing employment." Cooperative Federalism is "is a concept of federalism which national, state, and local governments interact cooperatively and collectively to solve common problems, rather than making policies separately but more or less equally."

Cooperative Federalism developed with the creation of the Constitution. The New Deal enacted by Franklin D. Roosevelt was made in order to take the United States out of the Great Depression. Cooperative Federalism is the concept in which a state cooperates to solve common existing issues.

The relationship between the New Deal and the Cooperative Federalism is that in the desperate times the deal an example of Cooperative Federalism. After the great depression people did not have jobs and the economy had stopped, because if you do not have money, you cannot buy anything and this leads the commerce to freeze. Cooperative Federalism is when the federal government work with the states governments. During the New Deal the federal government gave jobs to people, and that is the state’s government job, so that is cooperative federalism. The jobs were given using plans, one example of this plans is the PWA (Public Works Administration), it was created in 1933 and it’s main purpose was to give jobs to the unemployed and built large scale public works like dams, bridges, schools, highways, hospitals, etc.
