This is a theme from the story because the bad seed faces many challenges in his life, and they helped him learn that he can grow from them.

In the book, the bad seed's sunflower droops, all of his family get put in a bag, he gets eaten, he gets spit out, and he cracks. In the book, the bad seed decides to be good, even if he still doesn't listen, he's still late to things, he still talks during movies, and he still does a lot of bad things, but he will take it one step at a time. This is a theme from the story because the only reason the bad seed was bad was because he lost every person in his family. He had not the best stuff, and he didn't like that. The bad seed decided to see the good in things and started to love himself even if he wasn't perfect. He started to be nice too, so he wouldn't always be seen as 'the bad seed'.

In the book, the seed was completely changed when the giant spit him out, he became a bad seed. He was bad because he didn't think he could be good anymore. In the end, he made a big decision to be good, and it turned out pretty well. Nobody thought he was a bad seed anymore.
