I just started volunteering at BCNC. It was a great experience to help out the Chinese new immigrants who came to America to learn English. It is a hard language to learn when there English is there second language. I learned a lot on how to help out the teacher Songchen Zhang with her conversation students. I also meet a lot of new people. I really like it.

Due to the pandemic, I have spare time to join BCNC English class. I can take classes online from home, I can spend more time with my family and I also go out to work part time. I am very proud that I kept me and my family happy and healthy during pandemic. We kept social distance, my family members who can get COVID-19 vaccines are all vaccinated. I recognized a lot of discrimination against Asian this year and last year, many people had said and done racist stuff that hurt others. I hope in the future there will not be discrimination against all skin colors, we can be all treated equally, and my kids can grow up in a friendlier environment.

One of my proudest things last year was that during the pandemic, I went to New Bedford and Westgate Mall with the brothers and sisters from the church to give out free masks. We walked around the parking lot or stay at the entrance of the supermarket, everyone passed by would receive 10 free masks which were donated by Chinese Americans all around the world. It was our happiest time to see the happy smile on their faces when they received the masks. We want everyone to be well protected and hoped to go through this difficult time with all the people. Every day, we prayed for the pandemic to be completely controlled as soon as possible. May God bless the world he created.

I like eating pea sprouts and pea seedlings. So I bought some pea seeds from Amazon. I planted it by pot and towel . And then I given it water every day. In about 4 days, the first pea sprouts, and 10 days later, I can harvest green and healthy pea seedlings. What delicious the mixing pea seedlings and mushrooms!

Last week,I and my family went to RodIsland Newport.There are several famous big houses in Newport.We walked on the Cliffwalk which is well-known . The scenery is so beautiful. We enjoyed the sea wind at the same time we were attracted from the famous houses.

Right before pandemic started I planted this tree in front of my house it’s been over a year now and now it’s even taller than me when I planted it it’s height was around my stomach and now it’s even taller than me, I like to drink mint tea so around the tree I planted mint and some other flower

First of all i am proud to be a student of BCNC. All of my teachers are very nice and helpful. I am also so proud on my husband and kids who made it easy to spend a very intensive year at home with their nice behavior and funny activities.
