Prices of bond in lower income neighborhoods by CYRUS WILSON CUEVAS

Are people the reason crime rates are so high
or is it because of the price to get them out

I chose this topic because this is a common loop hole in the government and lower income neighborhoods. This a real issue because people have to resort to committing crime in order to pay for expensive bails and that leads to them going to jail as well and they then have to find someone else to get the money and certain people have to work countless hours to get to even a fraction of what it cost and it cause majority of African American family's to file for bankruptcy.

My analysis is that poverty doesn't have a direct relationship with crime, it has an indirect relationship. However, in poorer areas there is a 3x more chance of going to jail than an area with a generally rich or middle class population this means that families that are lower income are more prone to being susceptible to high bond prices they simply can't afford .

This source is good because it shows statistics about the impact on where you live to crime. It also gives a lot of good facts about incarceration rate and how it actually drives up the price statistics have shown that for every 400,000 the government makes people can get taxed 4 percent more on bond.

This is a good source because it explains "A spot rate calculation is made by determining the interest rate (discount rate) that makes the present value of a zero-coupon bond equal to its price. A series of spot rates must be calculated to price a coupon paying bond – each cash flow must be discounted using the appropriate spot rate, such that the sum of the present values of each cash flow equals the price."
