This is seen when Caliban states,"'That’s a brave god and bears celestial liquor. I will kneel to him"'(Shakespeare 2.2.121-2). Caliban gives Stephano power by pledging himself; however, Stephano does not use this power in a way where he can maintain it. He jokes with Trinculo and makes Caliban do useless tasks like cleaning his shoe. This can be seen in the modern day with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. He had power over Canada's people but didn't use it in a would have fixed many of their problems. Due to this issue, he had to resign his power to someone else. I predict that Stephano will also lose his power, as he is not a very good leader.

Gonzolo demonstrates this theme when only he doesn't encounter the Harpy: "You are three men of sin... If you could hurt, Your swords are now too massy for your strengths (Shakespeare 3.3.75-85). Before this event, Gonzolo tries his best to pacify the king when he thinks about his kids and keeps a positive perspective in mind, making him a good leader. He looks at a situation and makes a choice to help others.
