The Socs/Socials are an abundance of rich kids from the West side of the town. The opposing group of kids in the community are the Greasers, the Greasers are from the East side which also happen to very rowdy and poor. Both groups or "gangs" feud a lot. Unfortunately because of their heavily jelled hair and grungy appearance the are divided for their external appearance not there intellectual side.

~ The beginning of the climax is when Pony and Johnny get in brawl with some of the socials. The end of the fight results in Johnny killing one of the socials.
~ To prevent getting caught by the police to seek refuge Johnny and Pony run away to an abandon church, where they lay low for the next couple days. The two teenagers change their greaser identity by cutting and bleaching their hair.
~ Johnny and Pony save a group of children from a burning school. However Johnny endures multiple injuries which land him in the hospital.

Finding a song was difficult at first because the plot is very diverse so I wanted to find a song to match the intensity of the book. However after listening to Stop and Stare it was the Perfect fit. Stop and Stare replicates when Pony and Johnny when it says "This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us it's time to make our move, I'm shaking off the rust." When the teenagers leave after the murder they are trying to escape the chaos they have brought among the Greasers as well as the community. Also Pony does not fit in with the rest of the Greasers.There is a very significant part where it talks about not fitting in with the rest of the crowd.
