  • The Philippines suffers from rising sea levels, increased rainfall, drought and flooding.
  • The Philippines’ coral reefs are dying as well, due to climate issues as well as something called blast fishing. Blast fishing is a process in which people throw explosives in the water they are fishing in to make it easier to catch fish.
  • One major cause of the erosion of their coral reefs is ocean acidification, which is a process by which carbon dioxide in the atmosphere settles and dissolves in the water, causing carbonic acid.
