Since the new generations have technology at their fingertips to learn all languages... What will these students do if they are in a Spanish speaking country and lose WIFI / lose cell data?? Will they be able to respond to questions??

*Guide students in finding more of a reason to learn the language rather than just be in the class to fulfill the requirement.

*Increase student engagement with more speaking activities and use the language more

*Add more music and culture to grab their attention

Goal: For a student who has taken a language for 3-4 years to be conversant in that language. (Small Conversations)

The teacher should have a choice in their practices, however, the curriculum needs to be met, and the pacing should be kept in mind in order to complete the curriculum in time.

Building relationship and connecting with the students: ( I know that you all do that but I wrote it down anyway :) ) 1- It is very important to be relaxed and comfortable around your students : imagine that these are your own kids >>so enjoy them, be pleasant, show you care and try finding something special in each (meaning have some fun while maintaining your leadership and staying firm) , 2- Be happy (don't forget to smile or throw a joke /an anecdote here and there-> you will get their attention and they feel closer to you ) 3-be dynamic ( fluctuate your voice and tone , avoid monotony and run on never ending lesson) 4- Get closer to them ( walk up and down , sit or stand in the back, grab a chair and drag near the student who needs most your attention -> get down to their level , sit near them :)

2- The final purpose of our goal is "being able to understand and speak with a native" >>Include once a week a paired up guided conversation to apply how to ask/ respond by reusing the lesson resources efficiently. You tell them (in English) what to say, they practice, then you call on a random pair to model in front of class. You keep adding one question after the other by restarting from the beginning each time until they have a completed meaningful conversation with each other. Sometimes I make them switch a partner as we add a new question. This has been an excellent drill for my upper levels III and IV H but I intend to start including these practices for my II this marking period !

3- USE the SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINES for resources in all modes ! They have a wealth of information particularly for the current events and cultural topics !

4- As for option # 2 , as discussed before , only level 3 could be completed online and with teacher's approval . For the Honor society requirements let's begin next year with the AAA for three full years and induction to be in the following year in the fall :)

At the end of 4-5 years learning, I hope my students have opportunity being in the native speaking environment, then "survive"
