What is your favorite children's book?

I love reading to my kindergarten students. I have a lot of favorite children's books, but favorite book (at least right now!) is Not Norman: A Goldfish Story by Kelly Bennett. This is a cute story about a boy that wants a pet, but when he gets a goldfish for a pet, he is not thrilled. He keeps telling Norman, the goldfish, that he is going to take him back to the pet store as soon as he has a chance. Eventually the boy learns to love Norman as a pet and wouldn't trade him for any other pet in the world. It is an endearing story and can be a great start for a discussion and eventually a writing activity about pets and/or favorite animals with my kindergarten students. If you are interested, I found the story being read on YouTube:
