Week 1

In the first week, we were brief clearly on how the usrah program works and the importance of attending the usrah and also about our assignment that we all must submit. We also introduced ourselves and get know each other as a whole.

Week 2

On week 2, we learnt about hadith jibril which was very interesting for me because it's the first time i heard about it and it struck me deeply because its the story on the foundation of islam such as the differences about Islam, Iman and Ihsan.

Week 3

This week was about the continuation on the hadith jibril which it focuses on pillars of iman about the first three which was believe in Allah, believe in Malaikah and believe in Kutub and the how to implement this pillars on our daily life as a muslim.

Week 4

This was the week that we proceed with the next three of the pillars of iman; belive in Rasul and Anbiya, believe in the Hereafter, and belive in the Qada and Qadar. This includes the definition, components, significance, and how to apply to one's life.

Week 5

I can say that this was the most impactful week because we learn about the truth behind the judgement day. We learn about the signs of the judgement day which divided into three signs; minor signs,major signs, and the final signs. Furthermore, we also learn about Dajjal, Imam Mahdi, Yakjuj Makkuj, Ad-Dukhan, Dabbah Al-Ardh, and so much more. This topic teaches me on the importance of ibadah and doing all of Allah's command and avoid Allah's prohibition.

Week 6

On the second last week for usrah we learnt about adab. First and foremost we were told about the differences between adab and akhlak. To put simply, adab is the outward behaviour while akhlak is the qualities inside the heart. We also get to know about adab towards our parents in surah al-Maryam.

Suggestion :

My suggestion is that the usrah will include more activities instead of just listening to the presentation by the usrah assistant only. This will make the usrah members will feel more included and become more focus with the topic. For example, we can do online quiz, storytelling and group challenges.

Week 1

In the first week, we explored the concept of hikmah, which is often translated as wisdom or the ability to discern the true nature of things. I learned that hikmah is a positive value that can be actively acquired through 'ibadah (worship), as it helps cultivate inner qualities like sincerity, humility, and devotion. This session was meaningful because it taught me that wisdom is not just about intellect, but a blend of knowledge and deeds that allows a believer to comprehend Allah's commands more deeply.

Week 2

On week 2, we delved into the specific reasons and sources of hikmah that are derived from our acts of worship. It was interesting to learn how each act of worship has a profound purpose, such as how salah serves to prohibit immorality and wrongdoing. I also realized that fasting is designed to instill taqwa (righteousness), and zakah serves to purify our wealth while increasing our blessings. This topic helped me see that every ritual in Islam is a wellspring of wisdom intended to transform our character.

Week 3

This week was focused on the practical preparation of salah with khushu, which involves attaining a state of focus and being fully aware of communicating with Allah. We learned that achieving khushu requires effort even before the prayer begins, such as performing wudu perfectly, wearing clean clothes, and choosing a quiet place without distractions. I found the advice on avoiding prayer when food is served or when one is in a hurry particularly helpful, as it emphasizes the importance of being mentally and physically ready to meet our Creator.

Week 4

This was the week where we proceeded to discuss the immense virtues of performing salah with khushu and how it builds a strong Islamic character. I learned that a focused prayer is the "soul of salah" and fosters qualities like submission (Al-Taah), inner struggle (Al-Jihad) against laziness, and self-reflection (Muhasabah). It struck me how true khushu can influence our daily behavior by promoting modesty (Iffah) and humility (Tawaddu), essentially turning our prayer into a way of life rather than just a physical ritual.

Week 5

In the fifth week, we studied fasting and its spiritual virtues, specifically how it serves as a tool to become more mindful of Allah, or achieve taqwa. We explored the three levels of fasting described by Al-Ghazali, which taught me to aim beyond just abstaining from food and to instead protect my heart from worldly distractions. I also learned how fasting builds Sabr (patience) and Rahmah (mercy) by allowing us to empathize with the suffering of the poor, making this pillar feel much more impactful than just a physical challenge.

Week 6

On the final week, we learned about the virtues of zakah and sadaqah, which technically mean to grow, purify, and increase in goodness. I learned that these acts of giving involve both a vertical relationship with Allah and a horizontal one with our fellow humans, fostering Ukhuwwah (brotherhood) and community harmony. This topic taught me the importance of Tawakkul (reliance on Allah), as giving for His sake allows us to become less attached to material things and trust in His promise to replace and multiply what we give.

Suggestion :

My suggestion is to make the usrah more active by including practical demonstrations. Instead of just listening to a talk, we can learn by doing. For example, we can go to the wudu area to practice the correct way to wash properly, or use a prayer mat to check each other's posture during Ruku’ and Sujud. This hands-on approach helps us fix common mistakes immediately and makes the lessons much easier to remember. By practicing together, the sessions will be more fun, and we will feel more confident in our daily worship.
