• He is marooned, to put ashore on desolate island or coast.

• Marooned is a cruel penalty for unruly crew members and was often done by pirates in The Golden Age of Piracy.

• Small farmers forced off the land by landowners, smaller tradesmen were challenged by larger business.

• This displaced people to flock to urban areas looking for better work.

• For instance, young men might have to work 7 years to make an independent living, so they are tempted to go to sea to gain treasure and get rich.

• The pirate is being describe as poor mainly because of their socio-economic factor being forced off the land and forced to work as a pirate to have better life.

• The use of the marooned is self-explanatory where it is a common punishment during the Golden Age of Piracy.
