I do not know a lot about Germany and its culture, but whenever I hear the name, I think about cars. Germany is known for their innovative automotive products and often considered as the "Car Center of the World." This country is the home to the well-known luxury car brands such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche. Considering a lot of inventions that came from the country, I think this speaks a lot on how well-regarded innovation and education are in their culture. This is probably one of the reasons why they are always mentioned when people are talking about countries that can offer opportunities for graduate studies and career growth.

- Jude Yra Corciga

In all honesty, I don't know much about the German language except for what I have perused over on the preceding pages. But I do know a good number of things regarding its history and politics, from its dark and painful past under the rule of the Führer Adolf Hitler to its constant and stabling role in global governance under the indomitable Angela Merkel. I also know that an annual gathering of international security stakeholders, called the Munich Security Conference, is held in Germany, which I desire to be part of in the distant future. Although my love for politics and history are what I often prioritize and satisfy, I hope to learn more about Germany beyond these aspects and look back at this post in five months carrying more knowledge on this interesting language and nation.

Joshua Andrei Limpin

Besides this, from history, I am familiar that it was the perpetrator of the world wars, but it also produced some of the world's most brilliant minds that have ever existed such as Albert Einstein and Johannes Kepler (whom I have both heard of in high school). If I also remember correctly from our history class, Rizal was a big fan of the Germans and was truly amazed by them when he visited the country (even his best friend was from there!!), so I can't wait to see why Rizal sung high praises for Deutschland. :D
- Alyssa Chan
