China 1766 BCE

The Shang kingdom was the dynasty that was ruling during this year. Although they ruled only part of the land, their influence was very far and well known. The Shang had found bronze and used bronze technology which was very developed at this time.

China 1122 BCE

The Shang dynasty was no more, and the Zhou dynasty had started. The Zhou had become the longest ruling dynasty in Chinese history. They had become the rulers because their ancestors invaded the Great Wall of China, overthrowing the previous rulers. The rulers during this period had given land and power to their family members, which made them princes/feudal lords. The Zhou state began to expand, causing the Zhou and natives to mix their culture to one another. This will affect the future of China.

China 500 BCE

The Zhou kingdom had been put into fragments, but they were big enough to be called states. This was a time of war for the country. They had their bureaucracies, armies, and could pay their own taxes. Some of China's states had grown larger towns, and money had become standardized. A very important philosopher, a person who had helped China during this time, was Confucius. There was also another group of natives, who held onto their traditional way of life, which later became the Thai people.

China 200 BCE

Although China was still partially at war, they had started over and over again. They had made much progress in the economy. Trade and the industry had improved, and towns and cities began to grow larger. The war ended when the Qin state had conquered everything, starting the Qin dynasty. The Qin dynasty did not last long, for the emperor was kind of a tyrant.

Thankfully, there was a new ruler after him. It was a man named Gaozu. He was sort of like the emperor before him, except he was more mild.

It was peaceful during this time, and the Han dynasty had expanded China's border outwards.

For 200 years, China had been at peace for an extremely long time. They were wealthy, and there were many officials that could help the empire. The people were usually all wealthy, or they were kids from rich, wealthy people. The religion had changed, which became Confucianism. They began to grow more, money and trade. It was a peaceful time for everyone in the country. New land had become used to agriculture, mostly in border regions.

China 200 CE

Han dynasty slowly came to an end, due to it's weak emperors. The chief minister, who was named Wang Mang, took advantage of this and after that, it was chaos.

He had made confusion in China, which then caused a war to break out. Fortunately, the Han dynasty came back to life. It took many years of construction, economic expansion, and to restore power towards the emperor and his family. Paper was created in this time period, which helped many civil servants.

China 500 CE

In 220 CE, Han dynasty fell once again. They were invaded, divided, and the north was ruled by barbarians. Things were not going very well for China during this time. They did not lose that many materials, though.

Northern China was ruled by Mongolian people because they had conquered it. They had brought peace in that region for almost a century, due to them being stronger and having more durability than their predecessors and enemies.

Southern China was teamed up in one government. They had much economic expansion and more people.
