we went through lots of work on combining with another department (and there will be some fruitful things coming out of that) then months in we were told that they've decided our department is big enough to just be on its own

This semester is really hard. I feel on edge a lot more than is usual for me.

Little frazzled . . . just got home from taking my kid to a doctor's appointment, and trying to beat the clock to get here on time. :D

pretty rough - exam writing, grading, scoring papers...... put on the brakes and used an entire class period to talk about writing and structure and process - students appreciated... I appreciated the slow down and reflection

Whether or not I will get enough teaching units to be able to pay my bills next year. Right now, I'm clinging on by my fingernails. Life as a lecturer can be really not fun.

per their request we are going to stay overnight this weekend and go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! :)
