The first key item I see for S/S 21 is for woven tops. The Resort Shirt is a shirt that is a bit oversized and has a relaxed fit. The common colorway are bright, floral prints that give the shirt a retro feel. These shirts are can be a basic, used for layering, or can be used as a statement piece that can make the whole outfit pop. This is for a younger audience as the fit is more relaxed and "is a canvas for experimentation for S/S 21" (WGSN). The Resort Shirt will give a retro feel to this season and will give designers a chance to experiment with bolder prints in their collection.

This skirt appeals to a wider audience as the skirt's silhouette looks good on all types of bodies. The flow of the skirt and the tie at the side of the waist, makes the Sarong Skirt a must have piece for S/S 21.

Also in this year, some 2000s trends have become popular again, and one of those are tracksuits that usually are matching zip-down hoodies and sweatpants. The color of pureness, perfection, a blank canvas. But in the world of politics, the color white is usually associated with the "U.S Suffrage Movement." During this movement, women spent decades fighting for their right to vote. On August 18, 1920, women finally got that right to vote. Throughout those years of activism and campaigning, there were three main colors that became the brand colors of their movement. Those were green, white, and violet. Later green was replaced with gold "to pay homage to the use of the sunflower in the 1867 suffrage referendum campagin" (PBS, 2020). White ultimately because the main color of the movement as "white dresses also were cheaper and stood out in contrast to crowds of men wearing dark suits." (PBS, 2020). 

A century later, the color white still is related back to women's suffrage as well as other movements related to women's rights. In 2019, when the president gave his State of the Union address, Democratic women of Congress showed up wearing all white. "The House Democratic Women's Working Group invited lawmakers to wear white as a sign of solidarity once more." (TIMES, 2019). The color white at this event also could have signified a new, progressive, class of representative in Congress. Having women such as AOC, Katie Porter, Lauren Underwood, and so many more amazing women representing this country, all wearing white, this could be seen as a sign that this is a new beginning, a fresh slate, and that this wholeness will bring a brighter and better future to America.
