I am very involved in the election. This past year I have become very interested in politics so I've been watching it closely. All I have to say is that I wouldn't personally vote for either candidate - I HATE both of them. But if I had to pick, I suppose Hillary because I think Trump is one of the most psychotic people that I've ever seen be allowed to share an opinion in the media. (and because I am a democrat, and her ideals match mine the most. I still don't think she would/will be a good president at all.)

The whole audio chunk kind of upset me. I didn't really like how they treated that woman. Even from a young age, people disrespected her because of her gender, and the problem I have with this story is that they basically said her going through that got her where she is today - it shouldn't have to be that way. Women shouldn't have to feel accomplised because they wen't through these trial and tribulations to get what they want because of their gender. They shouldn't have to be put through something like this, to 'make them stronger'.

Mr.Smith Padlet Assignment

Because I was absent for the first hour or so, I don't fully understand the plot, but what I do understand is that Mr.Smith was a senator who was trying to expose one of the other senators, and pass something, and he wouldn't stand down to the other senators or the president because he believed in what he stood for. He wasn't guilty, and all he was trying to do was help the people. This made me feel like Mr.Smith was like Bernie Sanders, because during the election, even though he knew (in Mr.Smith's case - thought) he wouldn't make it to the final two, he kept pushing what he believed in.

I think Mr.Smith would be in either the democratic party or the green party. He really, truly believed in what he said he did -- he wanted to get his point across and he wouldn't let them push him out. And that reminds me of democrats -- they're for the people, the democrats believe in the BEST for the people, and Mr.Smith wouldn't stop until he got something done. I think he would have continued on with politics, married the girl (I don't recall he name because I only saw half the movie), and him and her would end up partnering up and working on women's rights! I feel like he would go back home and try to help all the impoverished, and adopt a small child with his wife, and that child would continue on with his work in the senate after Mr.Smith died.

I think that Jefferson Smith resembles Rodney Davis! Rodney Davis kept running for congress and he wouldn't give up - he didn't let the people get him down. He stuck with what he believed in, similar to Jefferson Smith. Jefferson Smith never gave up on what he was trying to get across, he kept going, he didn't let the people get him down. That's why I think that Smith and Davis have a lot in common.
