The most well known temperate grasslands include the veldts of Africa, the pampas of South America, the steppes of Eurasia, and the plains of North America.<br>Temperate grasslands are groups of grasslands that include tropical savannas and are characterized by the dominance of grasses.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Grasses dominate temperate grasslands, and trees and large shrubs are infrequently found in grassland areas. There are many species of grasses that live in this biome, including, purple needlegrass, wild oats, foxtail, ryegrass, and buffalo grass.<br>Grasses and other grassland plants have significant adaptations that accredits them to survive the harsh grazing. Grass, unlike many other plants, can withstand being grazed the entire way to the ground.</div>]]></description>
