Pleurodosis: It might be done to remove the fluid and keep it from coming back. To do this the doctor has to put a hollow tube into the chest to clear away the fluid. The specialized doctor has to insert a substance to paste the linings of the lung with the chest wall to limit the aditional fluid.
Catheter Placement: A part of the catheter is placed through the skin, the rest of the catheter is outside the body.
