These 4 verbs use your definite articles: le, la, les and l'.

ex: J'aime la glace. I like ice cream.

Je prefere les frites. I prefer french fries.

What happens in the negative when using ne...pas- the articles stay the same:

Je n'aime pas "la" glace.
Je ne prefere pas "les" frites.
