The concept of closeness is according to Ratliff is when two or more musicians, or musical elements, acting in pure coordination. The author Ratliff also explains the meaning by saying that music has contrast and that you can when a sound is rough or smooth."Closeness is developed over time, and its value to the ear is absolute", said Ratliff. I agree with Ratliff because when musicians bond together their music really shows. The saying two heads is better than one comes to account here because their is two different artists on a song blending in together. For example, the group called the "Migos" are very close and their music shows from making hits like Bad and Boujee, to making an album called Culture.
