This is Element 14 of Chapter 5, Reviewing Content. Reviewing Content is a valuable tool in the classroom because it gives students a chance to go over previous content and be able to draw connections to the current or subsequent content. "To review content, the teacher briefly reiterates related information from an earlier learning goal or unit (Magana & Marzano, pp. 68)

Reviewing content is something that teachers do even without prompting. Especially if there is a break between one lesson of content to the next lesson of content, it is necessary to build from prior content to help students establish understanding of the content.

Some strategies that Magana and Marzano introduce to successfully implement Element 14 are "cloze activities, summaries, demonstration, [and] questioning" (Magana & Marzano, pp. 68).
-Cloze activites are where teachers present prior content with specific words, phrases, and sentences missing to test knowledge (Magana & Marzano, 68).
-Summaries can be a discussion in the classroom of prior content using teacher summarization or student summarization (or a mixture of both) to review content (Magana & Marzano, 68).
-In a demonstration as it relates to reviewing content, students complete a task activating knowledge of prior content to test mastery (Magana & Marzano, 68).
-Questioning as the teacher reviewing content is tailored to challenge student to engage knowledge of prior content in order to answer correctly (Magana & Marzano, 69)
