Within the classroom, the teachers use a “Behavioural Chart” which is attached to show and include, the amount of times something has been observed by each the teachers and SNAS from a child relating to behavioural issues. Such behaviors include, hitting themselves/ others, climbing on tables/ chairs, biting nails, jumping to the floor, ignoring requests, hands to the ears etc. All of these behavioural reports are kept on file to be able to look back and see any trends that are occurring and what trends are lessening in the child’s behavior. With this type of filing system, it is crucial that the child’s name and information is not obvious, the children are labeled under their roll call number which is in line with child protection. It is amazing to see what types of behaviours different children have and how different each child’s ones can be. It is also good to see how each day brings a different amount of times a behavior can happen or not happen at all and you can see from these behaviours how the child is feeling and how perhaps their sensory needs are not being accomplished which leaves the child with bad behavioral issues.
